We’ve Started a Brand-New Project for Our Client!

At Sorrel, we’re always excited to get our teeth stuck into a brand-new refurbishment of an iconic building! Working with one our clients, who we’ve had the pleasure of working with for years, we’re now going to be renovating two of their office floors in Holborn. Working with some amazing suppliers, we’re creating a brand new, semi-open plan office environment that is designed for hot desk working, collaboration and client conferences.

The building in question is hundreds of years old and has come with its challenges in the past. A building as old of this that has had multiple changes over the years can sometimes present issues – but it’s always about finding a solution that can turn an issue into an asset. Incorporating original timbers, Edwardian fireplaces, and traditional panelling – we can seamlessly intertwine these features into a contemporary office environment.

On the third floor of this building, we are removing the suspended ceiling to reveal window skylights that have been covered for years, by removing the ceiling and relining as close to the roof as possible, we have made the space feel larger. With the additional natural light from the covered windows, there is a new sense of grandeur to the space. Although using colours from the Dulux Heritage range, by pairing them with contemporary carpet and flooring designs and original features – the new office floors will have a sense or originality and creativity

Trying to be environmentally friendly can be difficult in very old buildings, but using new technologies from our trusted partners, we can offer an M&E design solution and package that can assist any green agenda.
