Second Floor Art Studios – Wembley
When Sorrel was given the opportunity to work with a new client based in Wembley, we jumped at the chance to take on their unique project. Working closely with Second Floor Art Studios, we created individual small studios on behalf of our client, who then rents them at affordable prices to local artists. Each studio is different but consists of a blank canvas that each tenant can transform into their own creative hub.
The budget for this project was £2.5million, and involved us installing an intricate sprinkler system, as well as full M&E for air conditioning, ventilation and all new electrical systems. As well as this we added new communal areas, such as tea-points, clean up areas and toilet facilities. Working within the Wembley area is always a privilege, as there is real sense of diverse community and creativity. A perfect fit for our client, and we were incredibly grateful to be able to deliver their project to them and challenge ourselves with complex M&E requirements for the space.
Matthew Ward, the founder director of Second Floor Studios had this to say.
“Working with Sorrel over the past six months at Wembley Park has been a superb experience for Second Floor Studios. From the very beginning, their professionalism, attention to detail, and genuine understanding of our vision to deliver 30 new purpose-built studio workspaces for artists, while collaborating closely with other key stakeholders in the project, set them apart. Sorrel’s team brought not only their specialist expertise in M&E and commercial interior fitout but also a collaborative and solutions-focused approach that made every phase of our project seamless. The end result exceeded our expectations, transforming the shell and core space into something both functional and inspiring for artists to practice. We can’t recommend them highly enough to anyone seeking a specialist building contractor who is reliable, innovative, and dedicated to excellence.”
